Cement and Circular Economy

The circular economy is an alternative to a traditional linear economy (make, use, dispose) in which we keep resources in use for as long as possible, extract the maximum value from them whilst in use, then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of each service life.

Since cement industry contributes with 5% of CO2 emission worldwide, this industry is flyashactively participating in different aspects of circular economy from substituting natural extracted raw materials with recycled byproducts, up to use of alternative fuels and energy, substitution of clinker with natural o artificial (by-products) pozzolans and in concrete, recycling aggregates and optimizing cementitious usage
